CCAPP’s Tiffin Takeout Project

Tiffin Takeout Project

Did you know that even the brown paper takeout boxes often contain plastic?

CCAPP’s major project at present is the Tiffin Takeout Project. Modeled on a similar successful project in New Paltz, it's an outreach to local restaurants to convince them to allow and even encourage their take-out customers to use their own reusable containers for takeout orders.

We're facilitating this request by selling (at cost) stainless steel tiffin boxes (3-tiered containers) for customers to use for takeout. We're also able to make them available at no cost to restaurants who sign on, thanks to a donation from a local business.

We are currently working with a handful of restaurants in Saugerties, listed below, and looking to expand to Woodstock, Kingston, and eventually beyond.

Please contact us if you are interested in purchasing a tiffin box, if you’re a restaurant owner or employee interested in joining the cause, or if you’d like to join us! It’s a great way to get out and support your favorite eateries - or just somewhere you’ve always wanted to try. You can also call CCAPP member Edith Bolt at 917-453-2082 to purchase a tiffin.
